Robert D. Hilden
January 17, 1941 – July 10, 2018
Robert Dean Hilden (Bob) Bob passed away Tuesday evening the 10th of July after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born January 17th, 1941 to Al and Sophie Hilden. He lived in Olympia most of his life and lived in Pullman, Seattle and Bellevue as well.
He graduated from Olympia High School in 1959 and Washington State University in 1963. (Go Cougs) In December of 1963 he married Ardie, his wonderful wife of 54 years. Over the next 10 years they were blessed with Bonnie, Kacy and Krista their three children.
Bob loved sports! He began at an early age playing baseball, basketball, football and golf. He continued on, playing baseball at WSU through his 1st year and golf lifelong. He also loved coaching his children's ball teams and racing, owning, and raising, thoroughbred horses on the west coast.
Bob was an entrepreneur. He began early in life as a paper boy, commercial window washer, and provided for his college education by working long summer hours at Darigold in downtown Olympia. After college, Bob became a top producer selling life insurance for a few years and then began his real estate career as a commercial syndicator and eventually local residential developer. He was a hardworking visionary man with a desire for excellence in everything he did.
Bob will be greatly missed by his wife Ardie, children Bonnie (Doug), Kacy (Emily), Krista (Terry), and grandchildren Kyle, Josh, Toby, Taylor, Ellie, Kyra, his brothers Jerry (Molly), Don, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donations in his memory can be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
His memorial, a celebration of the life of Bob Hilden, will be held at Harbor Church, Friday July 27th at 6:30 pm. 819 Olympia Ave. NE, Olympia, WA 98506.
