Alline H. Barton, age 96, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away November 28, 2018 at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at Heritage Chapel with Larry Corder officiating. Burial will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Barton; parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.K. Herring; sisters, Esma Elkins, Clara Deakins and Margaret Morrison; brothers, Allen Herring and baby Webster Herring.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail B. Dyess (Robert) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister, Jean H. Watson; niece, Peggy Smith; sister-in-law, Betty Herring of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; granddaughters, Teena D. Swift of Columbus, Ga. and Melanie D. Graham of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyful attitude. "A merry heart doeth good like medicine..." Proverbs 17:22
Pallbearers will be Larry Herring, Terry Herring, Carter Swift, Jr., Robert Swift, Carter Swift, Sr., Walter Graham and Allen Morrison.
Honorary pallbearers are Kathy, Glen and Dan Hershman, Frances Langford, and the loving and kind staff of Station 3 at Forest Manor Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alberta Baptist Church.
