Dear Bessie:
I was out of town when Frank died and have not been able to reach you by telephone. Because I had seen both of you so recently at a Bama football game, I assume that his death was sudden. At any rate, please know how sad I am to hear of his death. Years ago we met in Bruno's and I consider that a gift. Both of you have proven to be dear friends and supporters of TUARA. I will always remember your loyalty. I hope that we can talk soon. Martha Rogers

Bessie, I was so shocked! I cherish the lunch you, Frank, Irma Upton and I had at Taziki's in Midtown Mall recently. It was a good day. My thoughts are with you. Love, June Boling Helm, AHS Class of '52

Dear Members of Frank's Family,

"Skeeter" was a dear friend and classmate of mine at Livingston High School (Class of 1954). He was from Geiger and I was from Emelle, so we rode our yellow school bus together every school day to and from Livingston. He was a star halfback his senior year on one of the best football teams Livingston High School ever had! Our senior high school annual contains praise that our high school football coach heaped upon him!
Skeeter always had a warm smile and pleasant disposition. Everybody loved him dearly. As a teenager, he let his actions do his talking. Everybody enjoyed being in his presence.
Henri Nouwen wrote, "When we look back over our lives, the individuals that we remember the most are not those who gave us the greatest advice or solutions to our problems, but rather, those who reached out and touched our lives at a particular time with their gentle and caring spirits."
Skeeter was that kind of person in my life. I join all of you in giving thanks for Frank's good life!

Frank Pettit was a wonderful man and I will truly miss him. He always had a smile and he would say or do things to brings smiles and laughter to all around him. He usually reminded me to "Behave in Church." I always told him that I would try. We had fun picking at each other on Sunday mornings. My daughters have memories of things like that with him also. It was fun.

May God Bless the Pettit Family. You are very special to our Holt United Methodist Church Family. We love you and hold you in our prayers.
