Brett Guy Turner

June 7, 1962September 3, 2011

Brett Guy Turner, age 49, was born June 7th, 1962. Brett passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side and family members nearby on September 3rd, 2011. He was born in Glasgow, Montana to Keith and Lila Turner, the eighth of ten children. In 1968, his family then moved to Mountain Home, Idaho where they enjoyed picnicking, fishing, camping and playing together in the outdoors. He graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1981. Brett then moved to Twin Falls, Idaho to pursue a career as an electrician eventually becoming a journeyman. There, in 1982, he met his soul mate, Wendy Lee Hirschi.

Brett and Wendy quickly became best friends and were inseparable because they found they had everything in common and a love that was eternal. They shared the same passions for Harley’s, camping, four-wheeling, hunting, collecting guns and coins, and caring for their beloved dogs. They were married July 7th, 1990 in Twin Falls, Idaho. The strength of their love helped Brett and Wendy overcome the many trials life had for them.

Brett worked at Crumrine Electric, where he developed many close friendships with his fellow co-workers. Brett had a talent and passion for creating, building, and repairing anything and everything. Put a tool in his hand and he knew how to use it from mechanics to wood to metal. Brett had a big heart that emulated his parents’ traits of generosity and kindness. He was always helping out family, friends, and even strangers with anything they needed, day or night. He loved and cherished his whole family. His nieces and nephews brought him great joy, especially when he was teasing them.

Brett is survived by his wife, Wendy, and their three dogs, Jake, Tater, and Squirt; by his nine siblings: Nadine (Mike) Rice, Nancy Turner, Jim and (Linda) Turner, Rick and (Marta) Turner, Ray Turner, Gregg and (Sue) Turner, Nedra Rainer, Lynette Turner, and Lori and (Roger) Brauner; his father and mother-in-law Gordon and Glenna Hirschi; brother and sister-in-laws Guy and (Deborah) Hirschi, Stephanie and (Gene) Larsen, Kendra and (Lynn) Hemmert; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Brett was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Lila Turner.

A celebration of Brett’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8th, 2011, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls.

It was Brett’s wish that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brett Turner Memorial Fund, at any Key Bank in Twin Falls. Contributions may be given to funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.

Long lost friend of the family here. Nedra, you were my friend many years ago. I remember going to your house and baking cookies. Your house full of brothers. Your mother seemed a patient woman. You came to my house quite often as well. I am truly sorry for your loss. Email me sometime. I don't Facebook. Debbie Niemeier

For Brett's family and friends
God has Brett in his keeping,
we have him in our hearts.
It broke our hearts to lose him,
but he did not go alone,
A part of us went with him
the day God called him home.
The strength and love of your family and friends will ease the days ahead. Our love and prayers.
