Thomas "Tom" W. Barton

Thomas W. Barton age 63 passed away peacefully at his home in Jackpot, NV from complications of heart failure. Tom was born September 13, 1947 in Weiser, ID to Roberta and LaVelle Barton. Tom met and married the love of his life Robin in April 1981. Tom’s life was blessed with his two children, Wes and Bryony and a beautiful granddaughter Sophie. Tom was an avid reader with limited handy-man skills. He loved his cabin in Alaska and spent many days cruising and fishing Glacier Bay. His wife was often referred to as “lady of the lake” and so Tom’s time was spent between: Jackpot Nevada, Gustavus Alaska, and McCall Idaho. Tom was President and CEO of Barton’s Club 93 from 1986 until his death. His vision and guidance resulted in a successful and flourishing enterprise. Tom so appreciated his General Manager Richard Hartman and his Head Controller LaRae Taylor. Tom was a life-long member of the Masonic Lodge in Elko Nevada. Tom will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was gifted with wit, charm and intelligence. A memorial celebration will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls. Military honors by the Magic Valley Veterans Association and Idaho National Guard. In lieu of flowers, fruit or cookie baskets, please make a donation to the NRA or the Idaho Humane Society. Contributions may be given to the funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.

Robin, Wes, Bryony and family,
Thinking of you with sympathy and hoping you find comfort in the lifetime of special memories.
Tom was my cousin, his mother, Roberta or more affectionately call by me as Auntie Berta, was my fathers sister.
As children we spent time together, but after they moved to Jackpot, we lost touch. I am happy that my husband and I stopped in to Club 93 in 2003 and again in 2005, to find Tom and get reaquainted again. We had a wonderful visit, about old times, Auntie Berta, Uncle LaVelle, Grandma Maud and Grandpa Will, all gone now, but not forgotten.
What a fun fellow Tom was as a child and turned out to be the same as an adult.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tom's family at this time of sorrow. Tom's mom, Roberta, was my dad's sister. He has been to our ranch hunting elk many years ago, but we have not kept in touch. I have memories of playing with Tom as kids when they would come to visit our grandpa Will and grandma Maude or when visiting us on the ranch.

May God comfort you,

Bill and Anita Butler
