A Mass for Ernest Lacey Brady, Sr., 94 of Tyler will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Flint, Texas on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Father Timothy Kelly officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Brady passed away, Wednesday February 8, 2017. He was born April 17, 1922 in Newark, Texas. He was raised and graduated from high school at the Masonic Home and school in Fort Worth, Texas After graduation from high school he attended the University of Texas at Austin, but was interrupted by World War II, thusly joined the Marine Corp serving in Pensacola, Florida training pilots. Then he completed college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He eventually moved to Tyler as Branch Manager of General Motors Acceptance Corporation.
Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his wide of 45 years, Faye Saxon Brady and grandson, Ernest Lacey Brady III (Trey).
He is survived by a son Dr. Ernest Lacey Brady Jr. and wife Darby Brady, daughter Cindy Brady Scarborough and husband David Scarborough, four grand children, eleven great grandchildren and brother Homer Thomas Brady.
