Hi Mom: Happy Birthday. Sending you birthday cake, balloon, Mallowmars, Peppermint Patties and hugs and kisses. Love Lou P.S. Save me a piece of cake!

Happy Birthday, Mom. I feel you with me this week in many ways. At a yoga class this morning, we were talking about December birthdays. I mentioned it was yours today. At the end of class, our instructor gave us some candy for the holidays -- lo and behold, it was York Peppermint Patties, your favorite!

I've been giving my own fitness students little trinkets over the holidays. In one class, I placed them out in your pasta colander. I was delighted when a few of the students remembered growing up with a similar strainer, and it brought them a big smile.

I've been playing Dominic the Donkey in my before/after class music for the holidays. One of my students got very excited when she heard it and said it was her mom's favorite Christmas song. This gal's grandmother was related to ours -- same last maiden name. We're cousins on some level.

Someone else gave me homemade pignoli nut cookies yesterday, and that also made me think of Grandma and you. Those cookies won't last long. They're as good as the ones from Zia's bakery!

We send you much love this holiday season, Mom. You are with us always.

Love, Jo Ann and Jim
