Born in Union City to Vincenzo and Catherine LaRocca, Rocky as he was known to all, was a very caring and loving man. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was a gunner and reconnaissance aerial photographer, flying 45 missions in WW2 and becoming a Sergeant.
After his tour of duty, Rocky fell in love and married Margaret Spangenberg (d2000) and worked as a window dresser in Holthausen’s Department Store and a Maitre d’ at George’s in Moonachie.
After retiring and relocating to North Bergen, Rocky loved to do word puzzles, spend time playing cards and visiting with family members. He was a huge fan of the NY Yankees and loved to tell jokes.
Visitation will be held on Sunday August 21st from 1-5pm at Leber Funeral Home 2000 Kennedy Blvd Union City NJ. A funeral service will be held on Monday August 22nd at Holy Family Church 530 35th St. Union City at 10am. Interment will be held at George Washington Memorial Park 234 Paramus Rd Paramus NJ.
