Nick was born in West New York, NJ on September 21, 1929, to the late Frank and Josephine Saraceni and was pre-deceased by his daughter Elise, sister Livia and brother Alexander. Nick graduated from Memorial High School in 1948 and was a Korean War veteran having served in the Army from 1951 to 1953, attaining the rank of Sergeant. On November 21, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Anita, and moved to Weehawken, where he lived for over 70 years. Nick worked at Schiffenhaus Packaging Corporation for over 40 years as a display designer, retiring in 2007.
Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Anita, children Karen Trapani (Joseph), Robert (Cathy), and Kathleen Sabogal (Rich), grandchildren Taryn, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, Joseph, and Nicholas, great-grandchildren, Guiliana, Isabella, Jack, Amelia, Georgina and Louise.
Nick was a generous, kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was a longtime member of the Lakewoods Social Club, where he enjoyed spending time with his lifelong friends. Nick loved a good glass of wine, a plate of pasta and spending time with his wife and family and he will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday, March 15, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday 3/16/24 10am at St. Lawrence Church, 22 Hackensack Avenue, Weehawken, NJ. He will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery, 10 Serpentine Rd., Tenafly, NJ.
