Ione Newton

Ione Newton, age 86, of Universal City, Texas passed away on November 19, 2018. Ione was born on April 29, 1932 in Somerset, Wisconsin. She lived her early life in Farmington, Wisconsin and graduated from Osceola High School in 1949. Ione was a strong, loving, and devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gerald Newton and her children: Cindy Scoggins and her husband Paul, Dan Newton and his wife Becky and Debi Hidde and her husband Dave. Other survivors include four grandchildren: Matthew Scoggins, Jonathan Scoggins, Jared Newton and Lauren Newton, great-granddaughter Lily Ione Scoggins, sister, Phyllis (Montpetit) Boerner, brothers, Robert Montpetit, William Montpetit and Daniel Montpetit. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Goldie Montpetit, her brother David Montpetit, sisters Gloria (Montpetit) Killbride and Diane (Montpetit) Kapuscinski.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Nacogdoches and Brookdale Hospice for their care and support.

A service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10:45 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests you consider donating to a charity of your choice.
