Edwina Catherine Grant Kellner, 80, passed away on the 7th of June, 2013, at her home in Upland, California, with family present. She had courageously battled pancreatic cancer for 6 long, painful months.

Edwina was born on July 3, 1932 in Billings, Montana to William and Mary Price Grant, and her family moved to California when she was a small child. She grew up on a chicken ranch in Pomona, California. She graduated from Pomona High School in 1948. After high school she attended Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, and studied General Education. Mt SAC is where she met her lifelong companion and husband Floyd. Edwina married Floyd in 1950 in Pomona, California. They were happily married for 62 years.

Edwina was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Upland, California Chapter No. 346, for over 40 years. During that time, she was selected as Grand Ruth of California in 1978 and was Worthy Matron numerous times, of both her Home Chapter in Upland and the Rim of the World Chapter in Twin Peaks, California, where she was also a member. She dedicated much of her attention in the Masonic Organizations to the Rainbow Girls and Job Daughters, where she was a Worthy Adviser. Edwina had an amazing Mezzo Soprano voice and was invited to be installing soloist for numerous Eastern Star and Masonic Installation Ceremonies. She also was a member of the Cathedral Choir at the United Methodist Church in Upland for over 15 years. While a member of that United Methodist Church she was active in the Women’s Club, coordinating the Church Weddings and Receptions and worked in the church office as a secretary for 15 years, until she and Floyd relocated to Sky Forest, California. Even with all the volunteer activities she also found time to raise 3 incredibly proud sons, maintain several administrative and marketing positions including Outside Sales Manager for Santa’s Village in Sky Forest and was a member of the Running Springs Chamber Of Commerce.

Edwina was preceded in death by her parents; William and Mary Price Grant, and her big brother “Charlie”, Charles Grant, formerly of Novato, California.

She leaves behind her husband Floyd of Upland, California; her sons Paul (Melanie) of Corona, California, Craig of Upland, California and Phillip (Lisa) of Bedford, Texas; her little brother “Bill”, William (Carol) Grant of Claremont, California; her sister-in-law Lynn Grant of Novato, California; her Grandsons Timothy and Aaron; her 4 nieces and 2 nephews and many special friends she considered part of her family.

A Celebration Of Life Observance along with a short Service from the Order Of The Eastern Star, Upland Chapter will be held at First United Methodist Church in Upland; 262 N Euclid Ave, Upland, CA 91786, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 13, 2013. My sister-in-law, Edwina was one of the most capable and competent women I know. She worked at many jobs, both volunteer and as an employee and was highly regarded by all who knew her. She will missed by many. Lynn Grant

I worked with Edwina as her Assistant for a few years at her last job. She was such a joy to work with and taught me a lot. I always had her proofread anything I wrote. There were always words of Wisdom and Comforting Hugs when I or she needed them. We had each others back in an often chaotic work environment. My heartaches and I am heavily saddened in hearing about her passing. It helps to remind myself she is now pain free. I will miss her a lot. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your Sweet Father. Give him a BIG Hug from me. Now I know I have another Guardian Angel up there keeping an eye one me.
