James David Scholle, 91, of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023. He was born June 5, 1932 in Coldwater, KS to the late David and Velma (Malone) Scholle. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a retired truck driver for Walmart with recognition for driving over 3-million miles accident free. He had driven the Joy Bus for Windsor Drive Church of Christ, and after retiring, drove a bus for Village Tours.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Scholle; and two sisters, Dorothy Allen and Mary Lynn.
He is survived by two daughters, Daveina Scholle of Van Buren, and Sherissa Hubbs and husband Cameron of Muldrow; a granddaughter, Averie Hubbs, whom he loved dearly and was his world; two brothers, Ivan Scholle and wife Karen of Clarksville, TN, and Terry Burnett and wife Linda of Brookville, KS; a niece, Sigi Scholle and many other special nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ilene Tittle.
Graveside memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
