I remember the first time meeting mama, when Tin brought me home to meet her family. Tin ran off upstairs and left me with mama and tita kat, to undergo my grilling with questions! 

Looking back, it was still so polite and delicate, except the eyes, mama intensly trying to work out my intentions, it wasn't too long before mama knew the truth and our relationship grew.

Even before marrying into the family, mama always treated me like a son, considered me with all the others when she showered her loved ones with gifts, something that was so common, and her way, even after Tin would tell her to stop spending her money. That was mama,  forever putting other people first. 

We had our first son, were recently married, moved to a foreign country, mama came and stayed to help with Conor and teach the then undomesticated, novice cook, Tin, many things, including advice for married life and family.  We appreciated this and it only cemented the amazing mother, wise woman and selfless person she was.

Mama was forever cooking, cleaning, such an active person, never able to sit down and rest, she was always on the go, even when in later life she had back and shoulder pains, she would continue regardless,  without a whiper or complaint, she just loved to look after everone! 

The tragic and sudden loss will never make sense to the family; the fight she gave in her battle with COVID was tribute to her strength and love for her family, so many others were not blessed with love ones waking up from ICU, mama was a true miracle!

So many plans to make more family memories that will heartbreakingly not come to pass, but forever we will cherish the memories we have, telling the boys the beautiful person mama lory was. Words cannot describe how much you meant to the family and deeply missed you are, forever in our daily thoughts and prayers, until we see you again. 

Hello Tita Lory,

Lagi po ako excited para sa luto niyo po everytime may family reunion tayo, and never ko po makakalimutan yung isang summer na nag stay kami sa inyo. You took care of us and fed us, and it's something I'll never forget. I'm very thankful to have you as my aunt, and this virus took away one of the best people we've ever known. Masakit isipin na di na tayo magkikita muli sa susunod na family reunion. Please watch over us from up there, Tita Lory. We love you so much and we miss you so much.

Tita Lory was loved by many people, Including my family. She was my mom’s best friend. We are very lucky and fortunate to have her in our lives. 

When Tita decided to get her citizenship and stayed with my mom. We are very blessed to have her around.Her stay with us had made huge difference in our family. I gain an aunt that I can turn to when I feel upset and needed someone to vent out my disappointments and feelings. She was always there to listen and give advice. She’s like a second mom to me. 

Tita now that your gone we will surely miss you a lot. From the delicious foods that you make and  the sweet and calm voice of yours. Those are just few of the things that will be miss. 

For the past months  was very hard for all of us. Our hearts are broken  to see you in pain while your in the hospital. You fight hard  to stay but God decided to take all your sufferings. I love you tita I hope that even if your time was  cut short , I was able to show you how important you are and how thankful I was to have you in my life. You will be forever be in our hearts.

My dearest friend  Lory ... you may be gone but will never be forgotten .  I will always remember that sweet smile you flash every time we meet and that sincere friendship and help you always extend to everyone including to my relative even if you don’t know him well. As I begin to write my farewell note to Lory and her family, how I wish I were writing to her so she could write back to me.  Memories of bygone days at Land Bank, Training Division, flashed back in my mind.  You were a team player Lory. You contributed to our group in order to complete tasks, meet our goals and managed our projects.  You listened, respected ideas and aimed to improve our work assignments.  You understood well your role and was always committed to do your best.  As a friend, you are true and sincere. You always had a smile on your face.   I was looking forward to the day that we would have a reunion of the Personnel Dept. you, Fina, May, Winnie, Mel, Len, Beng and I, but that day won't be around anymore because you went ahead to cross the great beyond. Today is the day you will be laid to rest; but you know what they say, God only takes the best.  Everything happens for a reason, Even if we may not agree, just promise to look after us and if you can save a spot up there for us.  The thought of never seeing you again brings tears to my eyes because your passing was such a surprise but we should never question what God has planned. Lory is the most loving, caring wife, mother, sister I’ve known, her family always comes first, she don’t mind if nothing is left for her. She is very generous, accommodating , she doesn’t know how to say NO she always helps all the way she can, don’t know how to complain, she takes everything to her shoulder as long as she can take it. I’ll always remember her soft voice I’m wondering if she ever gets mad or angry , she is  such a wonderful person.
        I’ve known Lory for 39 years, and through the years we became close friends, we were neighbors,  officemates and we usually go to work together, we really had a lot of time spent together, we’ve been through thick and thin, sad and fun times with our sidelines (raket)to make extra income, there was even a time we were stranded due to flash flood somewhere in Bulacan to get some RTWs  to sell, going to navotas fishport to get some free fish, selling expensive cookware and water distiller. These past 3 years that we were together we often reminisce those adventures we had, and we laugh, why did we do those things as if we were really in dire need like a necessity to survive then we realized it was fun and being together makes us happy.
           I’m so grateful that I had the chance to be with her again and together we both had our bucket list done, European tour, Cruise to Mexico, shopping spree it’s just so sad that her ultimate goal to be an American citizen came a little bit late, April 14 is the most awaited time, anyway you made it . 
         Farewell my friend, you’ll forever be in my heart ❤️ till we meet again.



As we celebrate the life of tita Lor, I recall the ways that I knew her, and the ways that she had touched our lives. I knew her primarily through mama’s stories — where she was always the caring, generous ate. She was always going outside of herself to tend to her siblings, to her kids, to her family. In many ways, she was the anchor that kept the whole Samson family home. As we remember her, we strive to stay united and loving as one family, to pay tribute to her generosity. We will miss you, Tita Lor. Thank you and rest well.

Going to a Land Bank Branch is a pain in the ass. Crowded as always. It will easily take 2 hours of your time. But, not for me. Before i enter a branch, i ask the guard for the Manager's name. When i'm with the Manager already, i would just say that Mrs Lory Flores referred me to her and voila i get "VIP-like" treatment.🤩

She did actually referred me once, the rest was just a bluff!😂 I did this so many times even when she was  already retired! Sometimes the Manager asks me, "How's Ma'am Lory, where is she now?" Thay start to say some stories when they were together, etc. You can feel her legacy in their words. 

Now that you're gone Ate Lory, i need to spend time falling in line at the branches. But then again, we wouldn't know as the saying goes, one's legacy lives beyond the grave.😍👌

Lory and I met years ago at Landbank Valenzuela Branch.  I was a fresh graduate just starting a career in banking and she was our Branch Manager.  As many who had the privilege to work with her would attest, she had a natural way of winning people’s trust and loyalty through genuine kindness and leadership.  That’s the kind of person she was.  When the time came that I had to pursue higher studies, she supported my transfer to the Bank Head Office in Makati and in the process advocated for my career advancement.  We lost touch for several years when I moved to Canada, but the Lord intended our paths to cross again when she visited her sister in Toronto 3 or 4 years ago.  We forgot to take even a single photo that night  as we were so happy catching up over dinner.  That evening was a wonderful gift Lory that I will always keep in my heart as a reminder of the importance of connecting with the people that helped and encouraged us along the way.  Our hearts go out to your family knowing that your passing is a void that can never be filled, but one that’s celebrated for a life well lived for others.

"Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I'll miss you until we meet again."

Thanks for everything  not only as a boss, a mentor but as a friend.

Ate Lorie was among those who generously helped me when I was new in the banking industry. She was already then a veteran. She helped me with referrals and also supported my then on and off entrepreneurial endeavors on the side. 

Always had a ready smile and pa-merienda when i visited her office near Malacanang and when she was assigned to Araneta Ave branch.  Those small sharings we had on the challenges and ups and downs of bank marketing helped me when I was starting out . Needless to say, your encouragement went a lomg way.

I am  just one of those who were blessed by your silent generosity and kindness.

The day God called you home, you left us precious memories. My dearest Ate Lory, you know how much you mean to me. I'm so grateful for the years we had and the closeness that we shared. As our eldest sister, you have been a good, generous and loving sister to all of us. And I will surely miss you in our Family gatherings, I will not have a partner anymore organizing our family events. When you tell me to look after your children and grandchildren, you need not worry. As promised, I will still do my best to look after them, it is so hard for me until now to accept that you are not with us anymore. I just need to believe that you are now in a better place with our Lord Jesus Christ. We will miss you  Ate Lory, you will always be in our hearts. Until we meet again, I love you, my dear sister. ❤❤❤

Ate Lory is my sister in-law but she is more of a "Sister or Ate" than an "in-law". I first met her in 1992 and the very moment that we met, she immediately made me feel like family.  We have had our share of not just chit-chats, but relevant sister and brother chit-chats. She has a way of starting a conversation by asking "ano, kumusta ka na, Jo?", a simple question but with so much sincerity.  I remember when me and my wife (her sister Kat) were preparing for our wedding, Ate Lory was always there assisting us despite her overly busy schedule, an assistance that never made you feel like there was something hovering over your shoulder. 

My family had the chance to travel with Ate Lory a few years back. It was just a relaxing and calm "lakwatsa". We would have wanted to travel with her again when she came home. 

GOD works in mysterious ways, sometines difficult for us humans to comprehend. But our faith helps us to understand that Ate Lory is in a better place, we will miss her dearly. 

Ate Lory will forever be, not only in our minds but dearly in our Hearts.  Rest now, Ate Lory,  until next time. 

Ate Lory is an angel on earth in the form of a wife, a mother, a sister, a boss and every thing in between. She has touched everyone’s life with so much care, generosity  and love. Broken hearted that she has to leave all of us here on earth but the heavens are rejoicing to welcome her.   So long sister, thank you and til we meet again.

Ate Lory  was a member of LECOM Ministry in our parish and was once an officer in our subd. She's very committed and responsible on whatever tasks  were assigned to her. She's a friend  who is very generous and kind. Whenever I asked for donation for our parish, she's  always willing to give.  She's really a great lost to our parish and community. We miss you, Ate Lory. Rest in peace. Till we meet again.
