At the young age of 71, Niki’s pain and suffering from a 4-year hard-fought battle with metastatic lung cancer ended. Unfortunately, cancer took the better part of her last few years. Niki fell asleep on August 13th, 2022 at the North Shore Hospice in North Vancouver, BC.
Niki was born in Cyprus in 1950 in the village of Kato Amiantos. In the 1970’s, Niki bravely moved to Canada and got married to her loving husband, Nick. Soon after she got married, she had her two daughters.
Niki’s devotion to her family was bountiful, and her wealth of wisdom irreplaceable. She always made time to help her family and friends. She had the patience, the energy, and the desire to teach her children and grandchildren everything they needed to know to be successful in life. The love she had for her grandchildren was distinct, as was her dedication to her home and family.
Niki had such a profound impact on everyone she met. Her infectious smile and laughter helped put a smile on everyone’s face. She was a kind and generous woman to everyone around her. Her laughter, her kindness, and her giving spirit will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed.
Niki was a marvelous cook, by profession, and was especially famous for her homemade spanakopitas. She had a natural talent for cooking, and she loved sharing her delicious food and recipes with family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress. Niki was the “go-to person” for the hemming of pants or re-attachment of zippers and buttons. She had exceptional skills for sewing and knitting, and enjoyed teaching her skills to others.
Niki is lovingly survived by her husband of 45 years, Nick, her two children, Joulia (Andre) and Kika (Sean), as well as her 5 grandchildren - Nicolas, Christopher, Sofia, Nikole, and Olivia. She leaves behind 7 siblings who live both near and far, and many other relatives and friends.
Niki was preceded in death by her parents, Kyriakos and Kyriaki Anayiotos.
A heartfelt thank you to all of Niki’s family, friends, and caregivers who dedicated their time with much compassion and love in her final years.

Remember Me by Margaret Mead
To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,
Remember me.
Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.
