When I sit back and think about my first encounter with Edna, I remember being enlightened by her spirit and inspired by her energy. Even in her 90s, she proved herself to be witty and sharp. I'm grateful to have met her, and I hope to live my life as youthfully as she lived hers.

Edna & Jim were great friends of my parents John & Mae Jones during their many years in Venice. On our visits south with our kids & grandkids, we all had the good fortune of getting to know them. They truly inspired us in our years of camping & exploring the country's national parks.

After the passing of Jim & my folks, I continued to keep in touch with Edna by phone and with short visits on our way either to or from Florida. Edna was amazing!!! She was sharp as a tack, delightfully funny, and oh, so perceptive!

We are SO grateful that we decided to stop to see Edna at her rehab facility on the way TO Florida this year. . . last Friday, January 31st. . . . I found her on an exercise bike working with an OT. . . .talking, smiling and "bragging". . .quite proud that she was doing this without her oxygen! We will miss her.

Jim and Edna were close friends of ours. We loved them from day one. We were partners in our sailboat, the "Wayward Lady". Edna was our navigator on all trips. Our layovers had to have a tennis court and a bridge table.

Edna never needed glasses, and she had great legs. I would tease her and say, "Edna, I love your eyes and your thighs".

Sleep well, dear Edna, you will be in our hearts and thoughts forever.

Wow.....Seems unreal. You will be missed so much.

From the day that I first met you, you became like a second Mom. Your wisdom and knowledge were impeccable. It seemed as if you had extensive knowledge of every topic.....from theater to sports. I've never met any senior lady that knew so much about college sports and players' names (LOL.....a lot more than most men).

I will forever cherish the memorable moments filled with witty chats, words of wisdom, dinner at Salts and other restaurants....just our time together "mom". I love you dearly!

p.s. I will help take care of Bei Li (she senses that you are not here and I can tell that she misses you too).
Rest in Peace......Pat

Mom was celebrated for 81 Mother's Days. Over the last 11 we spent together, we always did something special. I think her favorites were the days spent in the North Georgia Mountains recharging our collective batteries with the bright sunshine and beautiful spring scenery driving around Dahlonega, Blairsville and our beloved Suches, Georgia where so many great memories were made by the entire family.
