Bert Carl Staten, 62, of Victoria, TX, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. He was born to parents Marvin and Bertha on August 12, 1957. Bert graduated from Stroman High School and worked in the maintenance department at Citizens Medical Center for 22 years. Bert was a wonderful, caring father and grandfather. He was always full of life, quick with a joke, and very humble. His passion for fishing was unprecedented, something which he passed down to his children. He was pretty good at frying up his catch as well, which he usually shared with family and friends around him. One of Dad’s fish fry was the basis of good family get together. Bert is survived by daughter, Lacey: son, Rhyan and his wife, Ashley; grandchildren Madison, Aubrey, Bailey, Harper, Bella, Gunner, Hadley, Blaire, Hershel and Jude Staten; brothers, Mark Staten wife Delores; children, Aaron and Hannah Staten; Taylor Staten wife, Lori; sister Learah Stewart husband, Dennis Stewart and nephew Eric Kratzer wife, Lori. Bert was a wonderful man, great father, and an uplifting spirit to be around. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels from 12-2 PM. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Josh Bolch officiating. Bert Carl Staten, 62, of Victoria, TX, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2019, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born to parents Marvin and Bertha on August 12, 1957. Bert graduated from Stroman High School and worked in the maintenance department at Citizens Medical Center for 22 years.
Bert was a wonderful, caring father and grandfather. He was always full of life, quick with a joke, and very humble.
