Donald H. DeAtley

Donald is survived by his children, Charlotte (Donald) Branham of Conroe, Texas; Carol Decker and Cynthia (Ronald) Brandt, all of The Woodlands, Texas; Clarice Havens and John (Penny) Decker, all of Victoria; Leisa Ann Dowell of Somerville, Texas, Donald H. (Lisa Gayle) Cumby of Caldwell, Texas; grandchildren, Derek Branham, Jill Robinson, John Michael Jones, Anthony Havens, Thera Ross, Brianna King, Jamie Decker, Jacob Decker; great grandchildren, Jake Branham, Hunter Krause, Nolan Ross; sister, Carolyn (Vernon) Behrendt; sister in law, Carol DeAtley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Drost Decker DeAtley; sisters, Joy Zieschang and Jimmie Woodward Fiedler; and brother, James H. “Bubba” DeAtley.

Donald served in the U.S. Army, worked in the oilfield for Mobil and Sparkman Industries, and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. He was a devoted caregiver to his beloved wife, Marie, until her death. He had a wonderful dry sense of humor, loved to spend time with family and friends, play golf, and travel in his camper.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 am with Father Kristopher Fuchs presiding. Burial will follow at Catholic Cemetery #2. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Branham, John Michael Jones, Jacob Decker, Herbert Wayne Zieschang, James “Trey” DeAtley and J. Dean DeAtley.
