

J.B. Brisbin, 79, of Victoria passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011. He was born September 1, 1932, in Rogers, Texas to the late Bennie and Lottie Tharp Brisbin. He served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean conflict. He retired from the Soil Conservation Department and the Veterans Administration after 31 years of service, and also worked at Zarsky’s Lumber for 17 years. J. B. was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Temple. He was a loving husband, great father and an amazing grandfather who dearly loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
J.B. is survived by his wife, Donnie Miller Brisbin; daughter, Denise Stange and husband, Curtis; son, Jerry Brisbin and wife, Emma, all of Victoria; sisters, June Russell of Longview and Ruth Collins of Carrolton; brothers, A. B. Brisbin of Temple and Roy Brisbin of Tacoma, Washington; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and one great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Elton Lawson and Rev. Charles Reynolds officiating. Burial with flag folding and the playing of Taps under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Eliot, Curt Stange, Brittin Stange, Cullen Stange, Kase Eliot, Kole Eliot, Konor Eliot and Zachary Sampson.
