Norene Swendsen

Norene Weekley Swendsen, 86, of Victoria passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018. She was born on October 8, 1931 in Smiley, TX to Erle and Winifred Vick Weekley. She was a retired teacher, teaching predominately in Palacios and she was also a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Kenneth) Stewart of Smiley; very special friend, Bill Pipkin of Victoria; grandsons, Shiloh (Chelsie) Gaebler of Victoria, Bode Gaebler of Esko, Minnesota; granddaughters, Misti (Colin) Sheffield of San Antonio, Miranda Stewart of Smiley and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swendsen is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L. Swendsen and step-mother, Ruth Weekley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Graveside services will be 3 PM on Thursday at Bundick Cemetery near Smiley.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
