Reecie L. Evans

Reecie L. Evans, 89, of Victoria, passed away August 25, 2018. Reecie was born June 13, 1929 in Bloomington to the late Reece and Effie Thompson Bowen. Reecie retired from Alcoa after many years as an executive secretary. She also was a past matron of O.E.S She was a Baptist and adored her family. Reecie is survived by her daughter, Gayle F. Shook of Victoria; sons, Clayton Marvin Evans of Oklahoma, Calvin W. Evans Jr. of Cuero; sisters, Pat Spivey (Marvin) of Victoria, Joyce Webb of Palestine; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Evans; son, Michael Wayne Evans; son-in-law, Ron Shook and sister, Thelma Clay. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 10 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Mr. Don Oliver Elkins officiating with Eastern Star Honors. Burial will follow at Crescent Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Shook Jr., Michael Evans, Bryan Evans, Tyson Evans, Christopher Evans and Nathan Evans. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas in Reecie’s name.
