Albert Gordon Tase, Jr. (Al) passed away on July 30, 2021 in Virginia Beach, VA. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 27, 1932 to the late Dorothy V. and Albert G. Tase, Sr. Al was raised in Cumberland, MD and graduated from Allegany High School Class of 1950. He kept the class together for many years by organizing their annual reunions.
Al had a diverse career serving in the Marine Corps concurrent with a Civil Service career. He started his military service as a Private and retired as a Colonel (a true Mustang). His Civil Service career also grew from entering as a GS-1 and retiring as a GS-15.
In 1955 Al married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Nancy Murray, which resulted in becoming the proud father of three children: Stephen, Albert III, and Cheryl Anne. He always said the children were 75-80% raised by Nancy because of his obsession for work (2 1/2 jobs concurrently) throughout his college and subsequent military and civil service careers.
Al was proud of his service to the Country and his work ethic. After retirement he was very active in the Young Marines, the Marine Corps League, and Toys for Tots. He received many awards and recognitions throughout his career and retirement which included the Meritorious Civilian Service Award as well as national recognition for his support of the Young Marines .
He is survived by his wife Nancy, sons Stephen (Diana) of Virginia Beach, Albert (Keeley) of Charlotte, NC, and Cherie (Greg) of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by his brother, Ron (Suzie) of Titusville, FL, sister-in-law Elizabeth Ann Lickle of Baltimore, MD grandchildren Stephanie (Daniel) of Knoxville, TN, Cassandra (Will ) of Huntsville, AL, Todd and Jeremiah of Virginia Beach, and Paul of Taylor, MI as well as several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
