Brenda Mitchell Gregory

Brenda Mitchell Gregory, 78, passed away August 24, 2017 after a long trying effort to defeat cancer. She was born in Roanoke, VA, but grew up in a small town called Matewan-Red Jacket, WV. Thomas E. (Gene) Gregory, her husband of 49 loving years, was with her to the very end.

Left to cherish her memory along with her husband are her son, Tom Gregory, Jr. and wife, Rebel Gregory; sister, Pat Gainer and husband,Ron; grandchildren, Skylar and Chase; nephew, David Gainer; and other relatives.

Brenda was a retired educator/librarian with Virginia Beach Public Schools for 29 years. She was also a lifetime member of London Bridge Baptist Church as well as Broad Bay Golf and Country Club, where she served as the president of the Lady’s Gold Association. She also participated in other activities including social bridge groups.

Brenda was a Christian of great strength and faith. Her family greatly appreciates everyone’s support during this trying time. God Bless all of her girlfriends during this very trying time.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 28, 2017 at London Bridge Baptist Church, followed by a social. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Bridge Baptist Church, 2460 Potters Road, VA Beach, VA 23454.
