Harriette Ross Tartaglia

Harriette Ross Tartaglia died Nov. 9, 2012. She was born March 1, 1921 in Lorain, OH to the late Nicholas Grondin and Lucia Kelley. Harriette was the widow of Gerald N. Ross and Michael F. Tartaglia.

She is survived by her much loved children, Gerald Ross Jr. (Patricia), Michael Tartaglia (Marilyn), Anthony Tartaglia (Diane), Louise Ross, and Samuel Ross (Mary Ellen); grandchildren, Jennifer Donovan, Julie Bruglio (Robert), Michael Tartaglia II (Kristin),Clay Courson (Lindsey), Kevin Ross (Christine), and Andrew Tartaglia; Great grandchildren, Mark and Jacob Donovan, Ross Bruglio, Camden and Collin Courson, and Jaiden Alec Ross; sister, Gladys Choisser; brother, Daniel Grondin; sister-in-law, Patricia Grondin; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends.

When her first husband, Jerry, died at age 35, she moved with her three children from Lorain, OH to Fort Lauderdale, FL. There she met her second husband Mike, a widower with two sons.

She owned and operated the Casual Beauty Salon in Ft. Lauderdale for many years. She was an artist and gardener and continued to be a fantastic cook until her illness this year.

After the death of Mike, she moved to Suffolk, VA and lived with her daughter, Louise.

A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated Dec. 10 at 11 AM at the Church of St. Therese, 4137 Portsmouth Boulevard, Chesapeake, VA 23321. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, and in gratitude for professional and loving care given to Mom during her illness, donations be made to Comfort Care Hospice, 667 Kingsborough Square, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
