

Betty J. Henderson, age 78 of Visalia, California passed away on March 20, 2012 after a battle with cancer. She was born July 19, 1933 in Glendale, Arizona to Charles and Emma Cochran and raised in Blythe and San Bernardino, California. Kenneth "Jerry" Henderson met and fell in love with Betty and her two children, and they married in 1957. They lived in Southern California and moved to Visalia in 1971. Betty retired as a store manager for Langendorf Bakeries in 1991. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many and always looked forward to her lunches with "the girls." Betty loved to spend time with her special grandson, Rodney, and loved taking her dogs Bessie and Brandy on long walks. She was a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Emma Cochran, her husband Kenneth G. "Jerry" Henderson, son Lowell "Butch" Gooding, and 6 siblings. She is survived by her daughter Donna Beutler and husband Jeff Beutler, brother John Cochran, Klamath Falls, Oregon, brother James Cochran, Kailue Kona, Hawaii, sister Wanda Flask, Yucaipa, California, grandson Rodney Snow, granddaughters Stephanie Garcia, Amy Lirio and husband Carl, Marinda Martinez and husband Marcus, and 3 great grandchildren. Betty requested no services, but there will be an open house at Betty's house Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Valley Oak SPCA.
