He was born October 1, 1928 in Douglas, Arizona to Abel & Maria Jesus Vasquez.
He served in the United States Army for 24 years, where he served in the World War II, Korean, and Vietnam campaigns. Earning himself, the Bronze Star (Korean), Presidential Unit Citation (Vietnam), and Good Conduct Medals (6 awards), to name a few. He retired as a MSG E8 in 1970 and remained in the reserves until fulfilling his retirement term in April of 1976.
He and his beloved wife Celia settled in Visalia just prior to his retirement from the Army. He attended College of Sequoias. He worked for Lucky Auto Parts and Self Help Enterprises and eventually ended up as a weigh master for RMC Lone Star where he retired from.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved “Babe” Celia G Vasquez.
He is survived by his brother Manuel (Celia) Vasquez of Tucson, Arizona, his Great Aunt “Concha” of Sierra Vista, AZ, two sons, Conrad Vasquez of Visalia, Manuel Vasquez of Volcano Hawaii , Four daughters, Dora (Jose) Ruvalcaba, Veronica (Chris) Muzzy both of Visalia, Tracy (Randall) Cayler of Fresno and Stella Martinez of Casa Grande, AZ, Five step children, Judy Hernandez, Debbie (Raymond) Robles, Arnold (Jennie) Hernandez, Alfredo (Dolores) Hernandez and Albert (Kendra) Hernandez all of Casa Grande, Arizona.. He was blessed with thirty Seven grandchildren, 40 great- grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing will be Wednesday April 10, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. Graveside services will be at the Visalia Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
