Greg spent his youth and early teen years in Blythe, Ca where he enjoyed playing all sports and had many friends. During high school he moved to Visalia, Ca. attending Mt. Whitney High School where he played baseball, later taking classes at College of the Sequoias before joining the U.S. Navy for 3 years. Greg visited and lived in many beautiful places, and was lucky enough to call several National Parks his home at different times of his life, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Olympic, Snoqualmie, Shenandoah, and Mesa Verde to name a few. He lived several years in Ouray, Colorado where he was surrounded by the outdoor activities he truly loved, including being in the mountains and with friends. In 2002 Greg returned to Visalia, working as a handyman, taking up playing disc golf, as well as attending Reedley College.
Greg loved traveling, fishing, hiking, music, gardening, playing disc golf, sports, and cooking. He is proceeded in death by his younger brother, John Scott Heater, mother, Margaret Ann Heater, and his father, James Elwin Heater. Greg is survived by his brother, James Lee Heater of Visalia, Ca., sister, Carolyn Gordon and husband, Chris, niece Sarah Gordon and nephew Andrew Gordon all of Stevenson Ranch, Ca.; he also leaves behind his loving dog, Meera. Those who wish may donate in Greg’s name to San Francisco Veteran’s Hospital. Friends and family are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, November 4, 2018, 11:00am, at Mooney Grove Park, Arbor #9 in Visalia, California.
