Maj. Winston B. Clark, Jr, 77, of Waco passed away April 17, 2015. A memorial service will be 1:00p.m., Thursday, April 23,at the First United Methodist Church, 4901 Cobbs Drive, with Pastor Stephen Ramsdell officiating.
Winston was born on April 27, 1937 in Waco, Texas to Daisy and Winston B. Clark Sr. Winston graduated from Waco High School in 1955, attended Texas A & M where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He was then appointed to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 1962. He served in the United States Army for 23 years, including two tours in Vietnam as well as assignments in Germany and Korea. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star for his service. After retiring from the army, he was a financial planner before becoming a full-time dad. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and his grandson. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America, the Military Officers Association of America, and First United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth E. Clark. He is survived by wife of 36 years, Cheryl Anderson Clark; daughter and son in-law, Susan and Brian Lynch, of California; daughter, Darija Clark, of Austin, and son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Niki Clark, and grandson, Kade Clark, of McGregor.
He will be truly missed.
