Tom was born in Providence, RI a son of the late Walter and Doris (Greene) Croteau, he was a longtime resident of North Providence.
Tom graduated from LaSalle Academy in Providence and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages from Providence College, Class of 1970. Tom was selected to study for a year abroad in Switzerland which was a very special experience for him personally and educationally. A Veteran of the United States Army he served as Staff Sergeant and then for the Army National Guard until 1986.
Tom worked in the banking profession most of his career. He worked for Keystone Consulting Group as a Loan Specialist for many years before his retirement in 2017. Mr. Croteau was a girls’ softball coach for many years in Providence. He was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed walking many nature trails in Rhode Island. All of his friends knew how enthusiastic he was about The Beatles.
Tom loved and would do anything possible for his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Kristen Francisco and her husband Frederick of Fuitland Park, FL; one son, Douglas Croteau and his wife Lisa of Johnston, RI; one brother, Robert Croteau; three grandchildren, Kylie Ray, Samantha Croteau and Sonya Croteau and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey River Ray and Alia Croteau.
Private arrangements are in the care of Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home.
