Benny Lattanzio 87 of Rock Tavern, NY, passed away on July 1, 2018. He was born on May 29, 1931 in Astoria, NY to Roberto and Anna Lattanzio. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Louise, his children Mark (Donna) of Monroe, and Lisa Thomas (Patrick) of Rock Tavern, NY, and his grandchildren, Eddie Lattanzio and Abigail Thomas. His son Robert (Sandy) pre-deceased him in 2014. He is also pre-deceased by his brother, Irmo Lattanzio and his sister, Ida Noury. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Family was everything to him, and he will be greatly missed. Benny was a big strong man with an even bigger heart who was always around to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, always offering to do favors for people without being asked. He had a booming voice that many will remember from his years of singing in the choir of Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY. You could hear that voice long before he entered a room, always with a cheerful hello. Benny always loved watching boxing and was an avid Giants and Yankee fan. Benny was a Korean War Veteran, a Sargent First class in the United States Army, serving from 1952 – 1954. He worked for 37 years as an electrician for Con Edison before retiring in 1992.
