Sherilyn Marie Madore

Augusta, ME – Sherilyn passed away peacefully on January 2, 2018 at the Glenridge Nursing Facility with family by her side. She was 78 years old. Sherilyn Marie Hanscom was born on March 5, 1939 in Clinton. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1957. She moved to Portland after high school and worked in dietary at Maine Medical Ctr. She met her husband, Several Malaki, in Portland. They had 5 children and were married for approx. 17 years and then, separated and eventually, divorced. She was married to Patrick Madore of Maine and Georgia for approx. 10 yrs. Besides Maine, she lived in Mass., Hawaii, California, the Philippines, and Georgia. She loved her mom, friends, children, and her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed bowling on a league in Pittsfield with her friends Della and Duane, and Beverly Giles. She was a member of the Extension Club and the Rebekah’s Club of Clinton. She enjoyed her trip to Canada and trips with the Extension Club with her mother and two sisters. She was a kind and giving person. She was predeceased by her parents, Arnold Hanscom and Clara (Dodge) Giles; her Aunt Myra, and her siblings: Tilton and Richard Hanscom, and Sophie Prentiss. She is survived by her children and spouses: Daniel and Maribel Malaki of CA; Jeffrey and June Malaki of Chesapeake, VA; Steven Malaki of L.A.; Lori and Timothy Beaucage of Belgrade; and Todd and Lorna Malaki of CA. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; her brother Derrill Hanscom and his wife Janet of Indiana; her sister Lynette Squibb of NH; her brother Arnold Dale Hanscom and wife Rebecca of Clinton; and her brother Laforest Hanscom of Burnham. She will be missed by all including her many nieces and nephews and cousins in the U.S. and the Philippines. Funeral services will be held on January 19th at the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church in Waterville at 6 p.m. A reception at the church hall will follow. Special thanks goes to Deb French, RN who was always available to listen and answer concerns. Thank you to our supportive family and friends, the staff at the Glenridge Nursing Facility, Alzheimer’s Care in Gardiner, and MaineGeneral Hospice.
