Anne Helen Doublestein (Chlebana), age 92 of Wayland and born in Shelbyville, MI, went home to our Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin R. Doublestein; parents Michael and Johanna Chlebana; brothers Charles, Joseph, Alex, Michael, and Andrew Chlebana; and sisters Julia Kotrba and Amelia Peck.

Anne will be lovingly remembered by her sons Erwin Jr. (Cathy), Gary (Linda), Scott (Pam); sister, Eleanor (Henry) Banas; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Rev. William (Karen) Doubblestein; and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Chlebana, Agnes Chlebana, MaryAnn Doublestein, and Susan Doublestein.

Anne will be remembered for her ability to “adopt" nearly everyone who entered her home. She especially appreciated the loving care given by the staff of Green Acres Assisted Living. She was very proud of her family and took every opportunity to highlight their accomplishments. Her “office” was the kitchen table and she did some of her best work over coffee and sweet rolls.

A Memorial Celebration and interment will be scheduled in late June at Germond Cemetery on 126th St., Wayland Township.

Condolences to the Doublestein family first of all.
So many great memories from our trip to Montreal for the worlds fair to all of the great times out on the farm.
So many camping trips and family times together weather in Shelbyville or Kalamazoo.
Annie will be missed more than I can even imagine right now.
She is one heck of a positive influence in my life.

My sincerest sympathy to the family at the death of Anne. I took Holy Communion to her while she was a resident at Green Acres until the virus forced us to cease. I always enjoyed her company, such a cheerful, positive person. I had gotten to know her sister, Julia, who had resided in the very same room until her death. Such delightful sisters!!! May she rest in God's eternal glory.

Mom and I stopped to visit Ann a few summers ago. Ann told us she would turn 90 on her next birthday ! Mom and Ann had been friends for a very long time and loved to get together with the brothers. She was quite an incredible lady and I know right now there is a great game of euchre going on in heaven!

Erwin and Gary are such fine men and it is because of this wonderful Mother. I know she will be missed. She left fine men to share her Christian values. We have the pleasure to know Erwin and Gary. She must have been so proud of these fine men. She will be waiting for them in heaven.

She was such a kind and wonderful person. She was very nice to us when our Mother was married to Lynn. I have many fond memories of her and Uncle Irwin at their Christmas Parties in the basement. May She rest in peace.
