Duaine "Bud" Eye

Born August 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Edgar Allen and Virginia Margaret (Propst) Eye.

Bud was a lifelong HAM operator, going by the call sign of KA4RCL. In the last decade of his life his passion was country, bluegrass and gospel music and he could often be found at weekly events throughout the area. In his early years he worked for Wilson Trucking as a driver until he could start his poultry farm from which is now operated by his son.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June M. Eye on April 29, 2008; sisters, Doreatha Dahmer and Arvonna Balsey; and foster sister, Martha Ellinger.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth Eye and wife, Sharon of Waynesboro and Randal Eye and wife, Kristin of Richmond; daughters, Karen Benson of Richmond and Judy Gray and husband, Mark of Waynesboro; brother, Sheldon Eye of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Eric Carter and wife, Sarah, Lainey, Ricky and Jake Benson, Kevin and Jeremy Eye, Rachel and Kelly Gray; four great-grandchildren, Lunden and Avery Carter, Hawke Carter and Natalie Reyell; numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves his special friend and companion, Katherine “Kat” Moore.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Hermitage Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Wray Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Eye, Jake Marrs, Greg Eye, Mark Gray, Kevin Eye, Jeremy Eye, Ricky Benson and Jake Benson.

Honorary pallbearers will be his friends from the “Sawmill” and the “Barn”.

The family will receive friends form 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street.
