Geraldine "Gerry" Waggy Furr, 70, of Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro, died on Tuesday evening, July 10, 2012, at the residence of her daughter, Teresa Doyle of Havelock, North Carolina. She was born on August 22, 1941, in Monterey (Highland County), a daughter of the late Clement and Ivy McLaughlin Waggy. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and retired from Genicom. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee Furr; two daughters, Karen McCune and her husband, Kevin, of Bath County, Teresa Doyle and her husband, Charles, of Havelock, North Carolina; a son, Patrick Scott Furr of Waynesboro; two sisters, Patty Moyer and Betty Humphreys, both of Waynesboro; two brothers, Clement Waggy Jr. and Bill Waggy, both of Lyndhurst; five grandchildren, Carrie Royce and husband, Paul, Steven Doyle and wife, Tiffany, Allison McCune, Rachel Kerley, Sydney Furr; and three great-grandsons, Ian Royce, Liam Doyle and Connor Doyle. A private family graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the McLaughlin Family Cemetery in Monterey by Larry Jones. Family members are asked to assemble at the graveside by 1:45 p.m. There will be no visitation or viewing at the funeral home.
