Jackie Grove

Born February 17, 1940 in Highland County, she was the daughter of the late Arnold R. and Margie A. (Gutshall) Hiner.

Jackie was a member of the Church of Solsburg, Elkton, Va. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper on the family farm and enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and telling stories. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Nelson Grove; two sons, Michael Lee Grove of Waynesboro and W. Scott Grove and wife, Debbie of Crimora; two granddaughters, Alyson Marie Grove and Krystal Lynn Grove; brother, N. R. Hiner and wife, Mildred of Waynesboro; uncle, James O. “Jim” Hiner of Waynesboro; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Smyrna Presbyterian Church, 174 Dooms Crossing Road, Waynesboro, with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
