Billy Dave Shipwash, 87 years old, of Houston, Texas passed away on August 2, 2021. He was surrounded by multiple family members at his last breath of life. He was ready for the journey to leave his physical pain behind and be at God’s side. He is at peace now.
Bill was born on March 3, 1934, in Austin, Texas where he grew up with his father Dave, mother Lucile and brother James. Bill moved his family to Houston in 1956 and started installing washing machines and dryers in apartments and laundromats around the city. Over the next 20 years he built a thriving business with more than 40,000 machines installed, 250 employees servicing them, and the Brink’s truck backing up to his warehouse every day.
You recognized Bill by his sincere smile and his kind spirit. He was the guy you instantly liked and felt comfortable being with. He was always genuine, always caring, and always a gentleman. He wore many hats throughout his life. A rancher, pilot, trophy hunter, sports fisherman, land developer, banker, real estate broker and an entrepreneur always eager to take chances. Bill was a MAN’S-MAN – admired by many.
Bill is survived by his wife Donna, who fell in love with him 42 years ago, 6 children, James, Mitchell, Jeffery, Melanie, Ryan, and Roy–Michael: 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by daughter Jacquelyn.
