Rodrigo (Rod) C. Caffoni, 64, of Orleans, MA passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 1, 2011. Born in Leominster, MA, he was the son of the late Gilda E. (DiRusso) and Fernando T. Caffoni. He is survived by his wife Darnell; son Matthew; daughter Cori; grandsons Gabriel and Giovanni; sisters Cynthia and Mary; and several nieces and nephews. An artist throughout much of his life, his murals can be found in several homes and businesses on Cape Cod, including the lobby of the S. Yarmouth Post Office, from where he retired after 30 years of service as a letter carrier. He contributed his talent as a scenic artist to numerous theatre productions at the Barnstable Comedy Club, and several other theaters on the Cape. For the past eight years Rod and wife Darnell have been vendors at the Orleans Farmers Market selling organic produce from their backyard raised-bed garden. Throughout his life Rod could always be found working outside in the garden making things grow. A celebration of Rod’s life will take place Thursday December 8, at 6pm at the Barnstable Comedy Club located at 3171 Main Street in Barnstable. In memory of Rod and his beloved late sister Lisa, the family asks that you consider a donation to: Cape Abilities (for the Farm Program), 895 Mary Dunn Rd Hyannis, MA 02601.

I knew Roddy as a childhood friend in Leominster from and early age through high school. He, Bruce Bolduc and I were very close. Have not seen or talked to him since then high school. Always wondered what happened to him. Born a day after him in the same hospital.
