Tavia Marie Benoit

Tavia was born on May 30, 1930 in Jennings, LA to Leo and Ozea (Delome) Abshire. She was lovingly known by family and friends as Toot. She enjoyed listening to Cajun music, gardening, and spending time with family.

Toot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alex (Casey) Benoit, toddler son, Clifford Earl Benoit, grandsons William Keith (Billy) Rabalais, Jr., and Anthony William (Tony) Daley Jr. Also her siblings Wilfred (Mick) Abshire, Violet Monceaux, and Alec (Tot) Abshire.

Toot is survived by her sons, Dennis and wife Judy, Michael (Black), David, Sr (Turkey) and wife Heather, Mark, Clarence (Joe), and Randall (Randy) Benoit all of Hayes, LA,; her daughters, Donna and Keith Rabalais of Crowley and Rosetta (Rose) and Steve Badaczewski if Georgia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, April 13, 2018 from 5pm until 10pm with a rosary at 7pm and resume Saturday at 9am until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Funeral Service will be at 10am at the funeral home. Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
