Jose C. Aranda Jr., beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished brother, returned home to our heavenly Father on August 29, 2020. As the third of ten children growing up in Las Pinas, Philippines, he understood the value of family and sacrifice at an early age. He was better known as “Boy” to his family, friends, and kababayan. He attended St. Joseph’s Academy from elementary to high school and graduated with the batch of 1970 in which he made dear lifelong friends. During his second year of college, he left to join the US Navy to work, support his family, and settle them into their new home in Los Angeles. Shortly after, he began another journey of his own - married his hometown sweetheart, settled in the West Covina/Walnut area, and raised two children together. After finishing active duty in the Navy, he continued military service in the Air Force National Guard until retiring in 2011. At the same time, he had a fulfilling long career in the US Postal Service servicing all areas of Los Angeles and was nearing his well-deserved retirement. He continues to live on in the hearts of his beloved family and friends, and will always be remembered for his generosity, selflessness, humility, kindness, and hard working character.

Our sincere condolences Aida and kids. The Class of SJA Class 70 will miss a strong supporter of our batch. We will miss Boy’s smile and laughter and his willing to help our classmates in need at home. There’s a lot of emotional and thankful messages on our batch chat site praising Boy for his humility and generous contribution to the humanitarian project of the class. I will miss him as a friend and comrade in arms as a US Military Veteran.
