OBITUARY

Brian James Hufford

April 15, 1957August 8, 2018

Brian James Hufford, 61, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 08, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family at home; the home in which he built with his family. A visitation with his family will be from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Lakeside Fellowship in Polk City, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 5 p.m.

Brian was born April 15, 1957 to Ronald and Virgina (Gilbert) Hufford in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1975. Growing up he was active in organized bike racing and participated in the very first and second Ragabrai. Brian was very talented working with his hands, had great attention to detail, artistic, and creative. He owned his own construction company, Hufford Construction for 35 plus years. Brian had a passion for planes, and achieved his dream by working towards his pilot’s license. He was a wonderful husband and father, and loved nothing more than spending time with his grandkids, and enjoyed kids in general. Brian was always willing to help anyone by putting his needs aside for others.

Brian is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, LeAnn; children, Mike (Reanna) Hufford, Jenni (Brandon) Rost, and Tony Hufford; grandchildren, Lucas and Austin Hufford, and Cameron Rost; brother, Chris Hufford of New Mexico; and sister, Susan (Alan) Beck. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Lakeside Fellowship, 1121 W. Bridge Rd., Polk City, Iowa 50226.
