Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Minnie, Dr. Conforti was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, graduating from St. Benedict’s Preparatory in Newark NJ., class of 1949.
He attended St. Louis University, St. Louis University School of Dentistry, and the University of Alabama Medical School.
He served in the US Naval Reserve as a Second Lieutenant in Camp Pendleton, CA.
He went on to practice Oral Surgery in Elizabeth and Newton, NJ, before retiring and moving to Nantucket, MA and later, to West Palm Beach, FL, where he resided.
Dr. Conforti served as an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Dentistry for several years. He served on various community and charitable boards in the community of Newton. Upon retirement, he was involved in conducting dental studies in the United States and abroad for Colgate-Palmolive.
He enjoyed good food, good wine, the opera; his vintage Jaguar; golf, the countryside and the beach; to travel; to cook and to make pizza, especially for his Grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Joanne (Jody), whom he met while stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA and with whom he had 5 children.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Sullins Conforti, children Michael, Carolyn and husband Latta Browse, Sarah and husband Tommy Lee Halford, Philip, Nicholas; his Grandchildren Tyler and his wife Cassie, and Annelies Browse, Jessica, Jacob and his wife Gaelan, and Justin Halford, his sister Maria, as well as numerous cousins and friends who will sorely miss his caring heart, wit and wisdom.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at the Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Cremation and Event Center, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL., at 10 AM, on Friday, January 12, 2024.
