“Pops”
Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John Richard Curtis passed away on
August 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and was reunited with his bride “Blondie”. He
was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 3, 1939 to John Wyman and Grace Benzon. He
proudly served in the army reserves out of high school for eight years. He was an upholsterer
throughout his career and took pride in his work. He loved to spend time with his wife taking
road trips to California and cherished their vacation together to Hawaii. He loved his family and
enjoyed getting everyone together. He is survived by his children Richard (Cherie), Darren
(Janalee), Jayson (Tami), Shelley Anderson (Shane), 11 grandchildren, and three
great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Valley View Funeral Home on Friday August 24, 2018 from 6:00 PM -
8:00 PM. A family viewing will be held at Ridgeland Ward chapel church building on 4251 South
4800 West at 1:00 PM with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM.
