Joyce was the grounding force of our family and a force of nature. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful gifts, cooking and canning delightful food for her family (those pickles!) and making traditional Christmas candy. She was funny, kind, generous and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her, but most of all by her husband of 56 years, Lenard.
Preceded in death by her parents, Irene Hanson and Oscar Sweat, brothers Lavon and Evan and her sister Yeteve. She is survived by her husband Lenard, daughter Lenna (James) Tallman, sons Don (Ann) and Doug and grandchildren, Dawn, Carrie, Holly, Matthew, Jacob, Tiana, Braydon, and Starr and great-grandsons, Cameron and Marshal.
A viewing will be held at Valley View Funeral Home located at 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah on Thursday, August 9 from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday, August 10 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 10 at the same location.
