in his hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. Marv (or Ray, as he was also known) was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was an incredibly bright man who loved to read and learn, especially about the sciences. In his younger years, he enjoyed good old-fashioned, getting-into-trouble fun. He was proud of his service in the Marines, his acceptance to the University of Utah, and creating and managing his own business for 16 years; but he was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He was best known for always making others laugh with his great sense of humor. He enjoyed observing nature, farming and gardening, creating new recipes, sitting by a fire, and watching thunderstorms. Marv will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Denece (Jepperson) and their two daughters Brianne (Anthony) Nino and Megan (Alex) Braden; his former spouse Hazel Irene (Scroggins) Freeman and their seven children: Guy, Liana (Kelly), Michele, Joyce, Boyd (Angela), Pamela, and Thomas (Heidi); his step-daughter Desiree (Darcy) Catanzariti; his brother Lowell (Ida), his sisters Judy (Phil) Brown and Debbie (Tom) Reese, and his brother-in-law Dennis James; as well as 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Leonora, his brothers Ron and Harold, and his sister Colleen James.
