Jack passed peacefully at The North Shore Hospice on November 30th, 2011
Lovingly remembered by his wife Blanche, daughter Cheryl (Dean), son Jim (Wendy),
and grandchildren Matthew, Jarrett, Spencer, Michael and Laura.
Jack served in the R.C.A.F. during the WW 2 and returned to Blanche to start their life together.
He had a long career in the banking industry with the C.I.B.C. in Winnipeg, retiring in 1984. Jack
loved his family and spent the retirement years in Vancouver attending and supporting his grandsons
in their various school, sports, and musical endeavours. He was a talented artist and musician in his younger days. Humorous caricatures by "Slim" were well known and greatly anticipated by the men at R.C.A.F Station Yarmouth and appeared regularly in the base newspaper, The Windsock. His musical talents were celebrated by his grandson Jarrett who remembers that growing up "he would play for me whenever I asked". Jack recorded a collection of songs on the banjo and also played keyboards and guitar. Jack was tremendously loved and cherished and will always be remembered.
The family would like to thank North Shore home support, 7W palliative care, Dr. Edmunds and the North Shore Hospice for making Dad as comfortable as possible. No service by request. For those wishing to share a memory of Jack, please go to www.hollyburnfunerals.com
