On the morning of Sunday, February 25, 2018 Charles L. Bergeron Sr., age 85 left his earthly home and met his Savior. Charles was born on March 12, 1932 to the late Leroy & Melba Bergeron in Elton, LA.
Charles was a member of St John Bosco Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the owner of Bergeron’s Conoco in Westlake. He enjoyed the many years of coaching recreational sports and racing horses. He also never missed a chance to spend time at his camp with family and friends.
He is survived by five sons, Michael “Tubby” Bergeron Sr. & wife Rickey, Darrel Bergeron & wife Cathy, Claiborne “Clay” Bergeron & wife Becky all of Westlake, Charles “CL” Bergeron Jr. & fiancé Loryn of Brodheadsville, PA, Keith Bergeron & wife Belinda of New Caney, TX.; two daughters, Debra Bailey & husband Bill of Westlake & Lana Martin & husband Ricky of Moss Bluff; son in law
Ernest Foster Jr. of Lake Charles; brother Jerry Bergeron of Ragley. He has 24 grandchildren, 35 great granchildren & 2 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two great grandsons, Peyton & Caden; four brothers & 2 sisters.
Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 5-9pm with rosary at 6pm and will resume Thursday at 9am until time of service. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11am at St John Bosco Catholic Church with Father Mike Barras officiating. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
