SULPHUR – Eva Joyce Tunks, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Eva was a native of Sugartown, La. She was a longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist church. She loved traveling, and was known to be fun, adventurous, and exciting. Eva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed greatly.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Leland “Butch” Tunks, Jr. of Sulphur; son, Ricky Ray Tunks and wife, Shelly of Westlake; daughter, Hope Renee Tunks Seal and husband, Shane of DeRidder; grandchildren, Garrett Tunks and wife, Erica, Kaitlyn Tunks, Hunter Seal, and Gage Seal; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace and Gabe; a sister, Linda Kay Lacey Baggett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Lee Tunks, parents, Douglas and Elsie Lacey, and brothers, Milford Lacey and Charles Lacey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in DeQuincy, LA. Bro. Jordan Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com

I loved the pictures with the obituary! She had a zest for life and filled her 72 years to the full. I know she will be missed, but what a comfort to know that she lived with the Lord Jesus and certainly she died with him. It is not "Goodbye," but "See you soon!"
