The daughter of the late Mildred and John Romani, Emily was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 19, 1929. She married her dear husband Joseph on October 3, 1954. Together they moved with their children to Bardonia in 1971.
Emily is survived by her children, Geralyn, Joanne Price (Daniel), Gerard (Laurie) and her cherished grandchildren, Amanda (Paul), Joseph and Christina and her brother-in-law Guydon. Emily is predeceased by her loving husband Joseph and her brother Henry.
Emily worked at Rockland Community College until her retirement in 1991. There she made lifelong friends who still met for lunches and early bird dinners. Emily also shared friendships with many neighbors all of who would consider her a cherished friend. She spent countless hours on the phone chatting with friends and family. Emily was a member of the Golden Age Social Club of Park Ridge where she was Secretary for many years. She was an avid crossword puzzler and most recently discovered Wordle. From April to October Emily could be found watching her beloved Mets where she could name every player. Emily had a gift for remembering and sharing every joke she was ever told. The keen look in her eye when giving the punchline was priceless.
Emily’s greatest joy was found in spending time with her family. Nothing made her happier than when she was with her children and grandchildren. Emily was the family historian who shared stories dating back to when she was a child to present day. Her memory for names and details was unlike any other. Emily was a beautiful person who will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
As visitation will be held Wednesday, December 13th 2023, from 3:00PM to 8:00PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, December 14th, 2023, at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 2 Fremont Avenue, Park Ridge, NJ 07656 with entombment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY 10952. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
