Edward “Mr. D, Papa Bear” J. Dlugolenski, 90, of Cromwell, beloved husband for over 40 years of the late Anastasia (Marchik) Dlugolenski, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Born in Cromwell on April 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Alexander and Rose Dlugolenski. Ed worked for many years as a truck driver for Stop & Shop. He was a former member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus and served the town of Cromwell as a Constable and on the Board of Selectman. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ed will be forever missed by his three children; Sharon Salvatore and her husband Anthony of Cromwell, Edward J. Dlugolenski, Jr. and his wife Donna of Windsor and David Dlugolenski and his wife Mindy of Portsmouth, RI.; seven adored grandchildren, David Dlugolenski, Jr. and his wife Felicia, Daniel Dlugolenski and his wife Shannon, Sasha Stone and her husband Tedo, Marc Dlugolenski and his wife Heather, Bryan Dlugolenski and his wife Amy, Jamie Lynn Salvatore and Anthony Salvatore, Jr. and 12 cherished great-grandchildren, including Jeffery and Talia Turro. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his five brothers, Anthony, Jack, Murphy, Joe and Abby and his sister, Mary. In addition he was predeceased by his special friend of more than 20 years, Olga Scionti. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the friends and staff of the Village at South Farms who always took care of him with a “smile”.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, September 28th from 10-11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel. The burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
