November 26, 1926 – January 9, 2021
Isabel F. Bettencourt, 94, of Wethersfield passed away Saturday evening on the 9th of January, 2021. She was in her home, in her favorite spot in the house surrounded by her family who treasured her to the last breath. She was predeceased by her father, Antonio L. Bairos, mother, Gorgina T. Bairos, late husband, Manuel A. Bettencourt, brothers George and Manuel and sister Maria. Isabel was a genuine soul who had the habit of telling things like they were, whether you liked it or not. She never lost sight of what was important and spent much of her days praying and honoring God in all His glory. She came to this country from Santa Maria, Acores with her son to ensure he had a life with endless opportunities. She was selfless in everything she did and always put her family first. She loved to reminisce about Sao Lourenco and Almagreira and has left us with stories and memories to cherish forever. She was overjoyed to take part in raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her values and beliefs will always live through them to carry on for generations. Isabel’s greatest accomplishment was her son, he was her pride and joy, her world, her everything and she was his. She is survived by her son, Antonio M. Coelho and his wife Maria V. Coelho, granddaughter Michelle Carrion her husband Jonathan, their children Julianna and Tyler Carrion. Grandson, Peter Coelho, his wife Jessica, their daughter Isabella Coelho, granddaughter Andrea Spears, her husband Sgt. Alex Spears. Isabel also has family in various, parts of the world including Wethersfield, East Hartford, Massachusetts, Canada, Acores, Portugal. She never forgot all the good times she shares with them. The family would like to thank everyone who reached out for their love and support. Although we are deeply saddened by her loss, we are comforted that she is at peace in Heaven in her eternal resting place. She will always be smiling down on us and forever be in our hearts. A special thank you to the medical providers who ensured she was always comfortable, Dr. Anne Pinou and Dr. Srinivasulu Conjeevaram. Funeral arrangements will be private and are entrusted to the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel of Wethersfield. For online expressions of sympathy to the family, please visit www.desopofuneralchapel.com.
