

Pasquale Sollima, 77, of Windsor formerly of Hartford, died Saturday July 30, 2016 at home in Windsor. He was born May 9, 1939 in Palermo, Italy the son of the late Antonio and Rose (Merendino) Sollima. He came to the United States at the age of 19 and lived in the Greater Hartford area for most of his life. Pasquale was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary (Regina) Sollima. He retired from SWANK, Inc. after a long career as a machinist in many area manufacturing companies. He was also the owner of Rita’s Pizzeria in Southington. Pasquale is survived by two sons, Anthony Sollima and his wife, Lesley of Waterford, and David Sollima and his wife, Annamaria of South Windsor, his daughter Deborah Mayano and her husband, John of Cheshire, his siblings; Carmelo Sollima and his wife, Angela of Newington, Franco Sollima and his wife, Clara of Southington, Giuseppe Sollima formerly of Wethersfield and Giuseppina ""Josey"" Sollima of Enfield; nine grandchildren; Domenick, Braeden, Cara, Christopher, David, Jr. and Daniel Sollima; Andrew, Matthew and Michael Mayano; and a great granddaughter, Adriana Sollima. He is also survived by his dear friends, Emily and Mary Carol and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and neighbors. He also leaves his loyal dog, Max and his cat, Mindy. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Calogero and Rosa Sollima and his second wife Joyce (Gunner) Sollima. Funeral services will leave at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, August 4th from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 8:30-10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
